The project

A national brand campaign required a large-format graphic wrap installed across multiple storeys of a commercial building in downtown Calgary. The print partner needed a crew that could handle high-access installation under real-world urban constraints — road closure, time-limited access, and a graphic that needed to land perfectly across a multi-panel glass and structure facade.

The install is currently live and visible from the street. This is the kind of job that proves what an installation company is actually made of.

The challenge

Downtown Calgary installs at this scale don't happen on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The city permit required a road closure — which comes with a hard start time, a hard end time, and no tolerance for delays. The window to get the boom lift in position, panels up, aligned, and the street reopened was fixed before we arrived on site.

  • Road closure permit with a strict operational window
  • Early morning install — crew and equipment staged before dawn
  • Multi-storey height requiring boom lift access in an urban corridor
  • Multi-panel graphic requiring precise seam alignment across a glass grid facade
  • National brand standards — no panel misalignment acceptable
  • Street needed to reopen on time, regardless of install status

How we executed it

This job was won or lost in the preparation, not on the day. CDN Crew completed a site survey in advance to understand the panel grid, the mounting points, the boom lift positioning relative to the road closure zone, and the sequence of installation that would allow panels to go up in the right order without requiring repositioning mid-install.

Crew and equipment were staged and ready before the road closure window opened. Installation proceeded panel by panel with continuous alignment checks across the multi-storey graphic. The boom lift was clear and the street reopened on schedule.

The graphic is currently live on the building — visible to anyone walking or driving through downtown Calgary.

The Result

Multi-storey building wrap installed, aligned, and complete within the road closure window. Street reopened on time. The print partner's client had a national campaign running on a downtown Calgary building — exactly as planned, with zero issues to resolve after the fact.

What this demonstrates

High-access exterior installs in urban environments require a different kind of operational discipline than an indoor job. CDN Crew regularly works with boom lifts, scissor lifts, and elevated access equipment on complex exterior projects. We understand permit requirements, road closure logistics, and the pre-planning that makes a high-stakes install routine rather than stressful.

If your next project involves exterior access, time restrictions, or installation at height — this is the kind of job we're built for.
